Assertis Ltd.

Assertis is a small internet company based in Tunbridge Wells in Kent that, through it's main product OnlineBizBuilder and bespoke designs, provides internet and e-commerce solutions to small and medium Enterprise customers. A very small company, currently consisting of two developers, a part time sales person and the Managing Director, I was initially brought in as the sole developer to maintain an modify the existing sites, create new sites as required and to finish the second version of OnlineBizBuilder after the previous developers walked out.

Although my main work at Assertis is writing and updating OnlineBizBuilder I have worked on a number of bespoke websites for the company using PHP, Coldfusion, ASP, MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server 7 and 2000 (examples below).

As well as the programming side, my role also entails an number of other elements. These include setting up and maintaining the company's internal network, providing both email and telephone support for ourcustomers, managing the day to day running and maintenance of both our Red Hat Linux / Apache and Microsoft Windows 2000 / IIS servers. This includes setting up DNS settings, registering and setting up domains & emails and applying any security patches or updates.

For the last few months, due to the Managing Director doing consultancy work for First Class Partnerships, the role has also included the day to day management of projects and basic running of the company.
