Marie Stone Photography

Marie Stone is a professional photographer based in Hailsham, East Sussex. Specialising in all forms of photography, from wedding to portrait, performance and dance to sports photography, Marie wanted a site that would focus the visitor to the photos rather than the site.

The gallery sections of the site allow users to select the size of the thumbnails that they would like to see and alter the number appearing across the page appropriately. The website handles the generation of the thumbnails through resampling, as oppose to resizing, producing high quality, clear thumbnails no matter what size is selected. This allows visitors with both high and low computer resolutions to see the gallery in the ideal way for them.

Viewing the photograph in detail displays a much larger, watermarked version of the photograph with small thumbnails of the next and previous photographs in the gallery. The website automatically watermarks the image when displayed allowing new photographss to be added to the site in their original state without any need for modification.

The website also features a full administration suite, allowing Marie full control over the content of her site. Through the use of the suite photographs can be uploaded, removed and moved or duplicated to another gallery. Galleries can be added, moved or removed and have their text changed, as can links and their associated categories.

Although Marie is yet to launch it, the site also features a full shopping cart and order logging system allowing Marie to sell prints of her photographs in a range of formats and sizes.
